The children’s father, Gary Newman; her father Richard Loffi; sisters, Sandy Russell, Jill Meinka, Karen ( Michael) Zigler; many nieces and nephews; the pets she loved so much, Addie, Milo and Dixie and many close friends. A special thanks to Allegiance Hospice Home for the loving care Chris received.
‘It’s said that life is not about what you take with you, but what you leave behind. There has never been another person who has ever left as much of herself behind as Chris Newman did. The authentic smiles, the encouraging words spoken with such sincerity, the quiet prayers she was so faithful in praying for the people who didn’t even know she was praying for them. She was the kind of presence that when you ran into her, whether in a store or a social situation, after spending a few moments with her you left feeling lighter and more assured that the world was a good place because there were people like her in it. Heaven was truly made for people like her; instead of God saying, “Well done My faithful servant”. He will most assuredly declare, “You Rock! Thanks for showing the world who I really am”. This world doesn’t afford us too many Heroes, but Chris Newman was one of ours and we will miss her very much’.
Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene 3905 Clinton Rd. Jackson, Friday March 2, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Phil Stout officiating. Cremation will follow service. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Contributions may be made to the family for final expenses.
