Dorothea L. Hewlett

Of Jackson went to be with her Lord on January 26, 2011 at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her family. Her husband, Dorr, preceded her in death. January 26 would have been their 71st wedding anniversary. Dorothea graduated from Jackson High School and Foote Hospital School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse she worked her entire career at Foote Hospital. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church , a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the choir and volunteered in many other capacities. She was also preceded in death by son Tore David, sisters Mildred Hagemann and Wanda Lake, and brothers Bernard and Clarence Glettler. She is survived by her children Wanda (Frank) Brieger of Jackson, Steven (Mary) Hewlett of Ann Arbor, Susan (Michael) McCarthy of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Kevin (Yulia) Hewlett of Jackson, daughter-in-law- Janis Hewlett of Jacksonville, Florida, grandchildren Brian and Amanda Brieger, August, Tore, Moneka and Damon Hewlett, Britney Beck and Tore Alden, great granddaughters Nena and Caidan Cryar and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 West Wesley, Jackson Monday , January 31 at 11 am Visitation Sunday at the funeral home from 2pm to 4pm and Monday at the church 10am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or School.
