Douglas Paul Swetland

Of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Suzann Swetland; three daughters, Morgan (Keldrick) Smith, Ashley (Cameron) Rudolph and Katlyn (Josh) Vardaman; one son, Owen Swetland; two grandchildren, Henry and Olivia; parents, Melvin and Mary Swetland; two brothers, David (Terri) Swetland and Darrell Swetland; one nephew, Matthew (Jessica) Swetland as well as many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel and Aurel Swetland and Clara and Roy Hudson. Doug was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 14, 1959 and is a 1977 graduate of East Jackson High School. He was employed at Kentmoore for 15 years and he was currently employed with Kellogg Crankshaft. Doug was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his time hunting, fishing, camping and ATV riding with his family. He had a passion for nature. He traveled, with his family many times to Florida and to Mackinac, Michigan annually. He loved baseball and spending time with family and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring his life will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, 49202) on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. The family will receive friends for Visitation on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.

He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
