Farris Morgan Jr.

Of Jackson, MI passed away surrounded by family on December 4, 2017 at the age of 59 after a long illness. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on July 13, 1958 to parents Farris Morgan, Sr. and Jerolene Morgan. He married Ellen Johnson in Jackson on March 18, 1995. Farris was a machine operator by trade and worked at Cargotainer. He was a member of Loomis Park Baptist Church. He loved to attend his children’s sporting and family events. His hobbies included gardening, canning, boating, fishing, and baseball. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; children, Gabriel (Miranda) Elliott, Jacob Morgan, Hannah Morgan, and Jordan Jarrell; grandchildren, McKenna Grace Elliott and Madden Jarrell; and siblings, Larry (Marcella) Morgan, Mary (Ronnie) McCollum, Linda Gossett, and Angela Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; niece, April Hamm; and great nephew, Ryan Hamm. Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen with a celebration of life to be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Loomis Park Baptist Church, 2301 N Elm St., Jackson with Pastor Bob Snyder and Pastor Donald Sevigne officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loomis Park Baptist Church.
