

Of Jackson, passed away at home on Monday, October 3, 2016 under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Weesie was born on April 27, 1930 to Ernest and Helen (Keyes) Gauss. Weesie has been a resident of Jackson all her life. On February 11, 1955 she married the love of her life, Richard D. Ryan and they shared 53 years of happy life together before his passing October 19, 2008. Weesie is survived by her sons – John (Sharon) Vanderpool, Patrick (Dianne) Ryan, Doug Ryan, Gail Ryan, and loving foster daughter, Dawn Dwyer. Grandchildren – Matt (Katie) Ryan, Abbey Ryan, Eric (Misty) Hendershot, Ryan Vanderpool, Lucas (Elisabeth) Vanderpool, Blake Ryan, Molly Ryan, and Kelsey Dwyer-VanSumeren. Eight great-grandchildren – Kyrin, Trinity, Jaleigh, Makenzie, Jamus, Elonna, Trevor, and Sophia. Her sister, Maggie (Bill) Mullikin and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Weesie was preceded in death by her youngest son, Ronald, and her brother Richard Gauss. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonians 55 or Better at Loomis Park, and The Red Hat Society. She had monthly luncheons with dear friends from her graduating class, the Jacksonians, a card club, a birthday club and dear friend, Carolyn. Weesie was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, working in her flowerbeds, and camping with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family and the wonderful parties they used to have. Visitation will be at the Chas J. Burdon & Son Funeral Home on Friday, October 14 from 5-7 PM. A second visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 15 from 10-11 AM, with funeral services immediately following from 11 AM to 12 PM with Dr. Rev James Hegedus officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Presbyterian Church Scholarship fund, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
