Of Parma, MI passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 96. Howard was born in Jackson on September 13, 1926. He was married to his loving wife, Jan Butler, for 51 years. Howard was a World War II veteran, serving from 1944 - 1946 in the Philippines. He worked as an auto body repair manager at Bob Frahm Chevrolet and attended the Loomis Park Baptist Church. Howard enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, playing at the casino, and loved his dogs. Howard is survived by his wife Jan Butler; son Dwight (Bugs) Butler; brother-in-law Paul (Betty) Banks, sister-in-law Vera (James) Potter; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son David Butler and siblings Harold Butler, Lloyd Butler, and Wilma Lindemuth. A celebration of Howard's life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Loomis Park Baptist Church with Pastor Rich Zawadzki officiating. Visitation will be held at Loomis Park Baptist Church on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Howard will be laid to rest at Omard Cemetery in Brown City, MI on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loomis Park Baptist Church, 2301 N Elm Ave, Jackson, MI 49201.
