Irene Josephine Mroz

Of Jackson, Michigan embarked on her new journey, joining her husband and other family members in Heaven on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the age of 94. She is survived by her three children, Judy (Dave) King, Gary (Sharon) Mroz and Linda (William) Raymond; eight grandchildren, Joe Dryer, Mike Dryer, Naomi Harless, Rachell (Lee Conaway) Ellison, Jessica Adams, Tracy Raymond (Alex Hunter), Kristi Raymond (Keven Asbeck), and Chelsea Raymond (Kameron Putnam); eleven great grandchildren, Ashley (Dillon) Axon, Tristin Dryer, Destiny Dryer, Allee Dryer, Alyssa Ellison, Isabelle Ellison, Makenna Harless, James Harless, Alexander Hunter, Keven Asbeck, and Wyatt Putnam; sister, Eleanor Konieczki and many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Richard Mroz; daughter, Deborah J. Dryer; her parents, Peter and Anna (Schweda) and siblings Alex, Edward, Leonard, Eugene, Richard, Mary Stroko, Rose Becker, Phyllis Harner, Emma Kurynowski. Irene was one of eleven children born in Jackson, Michigan on July 4, 1926 and is a graduate of Jackson Technical School June 11, 1943. Irene worked at Jackson Dairy Bar and Camp International making hoop skirts before she was married to Richard and chose to be a mom to her four children. Irene loved taking long walks, gardening, planting flowers, doing puzzles and word searches, sewing, listening to her polish music on Sundays, attending church, spending time with her family, bowling, playing cards, watching fireworks on her birthday, and family reunions. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Timothy Nelson officiating. Irene will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. John Cemetery.
