

John "Terry" Gattshall of Jackson, Michigan passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the age of 66. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kimberly K. Gattshall; children, Christopher (Amanda) Gattshall, Kimberly D. Gattshall, Jessica (Brian) Griffin, Tammarah (Steve) Jordan, Jason (Kari) Carpenter and Nikole (Scott) Conley; 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three more on the way; brother, Randy (Patti) Gattshall; sister, Pamela (Cody) Boucher; mother, Marian Gattshall; best buddy and longtime sidekick, Bill VanRiper and numerous other family members and friends. He was proceeded in death by his father, John Gattshall and brother, Paul Gattshall. Terry lived life to the fullest, but “on his own terms”! He was often the life of the party in his younger years. He had many accomplishments during his life, but his passion was coaching softball and girls travel hockey and watching his grandchildren play sports. He led his girl’s hockey team to win state championship and earned coach of the year award, but the man couldn’t skate! He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a time of sharing and celebration of Terry’s life will be held later in the spring. As a 1973 Northwest High School graduate and because of his love of sports, the Gattshall Memorial Fund has been established in his honor. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 7, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Eagles 612 located at 301 Detroit St., Jackson, MI 49201.
