John Mark Martin

Of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce Martin; three children, Jason (Whitney), Aaron (Diane), and Janel Martin; six grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Michael Martin, Alexandra (Lance) Cusac, Samantha Martin, Nichole (Zach) Ratliff, and Johnathan Hadley; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Zander; brother, Gary Martin; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pauline (Brown) Martin. John was born in Jackson on January 1, 1943. After graduating from Jackson High he attended Jackson Community College and then received his degree from Spring Arbor College while working at Consumers Power. Mr. Martin retired from Consumers Power in 2003 after 32 years of service. He was a loving family man, enjoyed traveling, woodworking also wrenching on and collecting old cars. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a long time member of Michigan Center Bible Church (150 Broad Street Michigan Center, 49254) where a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Tovey officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. and again at the Church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions to Michigan Center Bible Church in his honor would be appreciated.
