John Howard Raymond

Of Grass Lake, Michigan, passed away at the age of 84, under the care of his family while at his home on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna Raymond; five sons, Michael (Lisa), Craig (Jeanette), Jeff, Kenn (Sharon) and Eric (Rachel) Raymond; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Ernie) Raymond; sisters-in-law, Kay and Clair Raymond as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and special friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Raymond; brothers, Richard, Don, James and William Raymond; sisters, Dorothy Ross, Gertrude Fuller and Judy Raymond. John was born in Jackson on January 20, 1935 to Roy and Rose (Meyers) Raymond. After graduating from Jackson High School, he was drafted into the United States Army. He returned to Jackson where he was employed with Jackson Glass and retired after over thirty years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, watching sports on television, the Lions and the Tigers. Mr. Raymond had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Loomis Park Baptist Church for nearly fifty years, where a service to honor his life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rich Zawadzki officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors.
