Josephine "Jo" May Wellman, born December 29th, 1922 to John Howard and Iola Shaw in Jackson, MI. She was the youngest of five children, and the only girl. She was a graduate of Jackson High School. She was married to Robert Wellman for 63 years, who proceeded her in death in 2009. Jo lived her entire life in the Jackson area where she raised her two sons Steven (Dianne) Wellman of Jackson and Gary (Corinne) Wellman of Frankenmuth. Jo has four grandsons, Justin (Heather), Ryan (Susane), Nathan (Emily), Andrew (Jill); two granddaughters, Tracie (Tony) Horabin and Wendy Tyslenko; and six great grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Carson, Lillian, Charlotte, and Tyler. She loved to bake, knit, and spend time with her family. Jo passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a future date.
