Of Pleasant Lake, MI passed away peacefully in her home, under the loving care of Henry Ford Jackson Hospice on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She is survived by her six children; Peggy (Art) Roggow of Jackson, Kelly (David) Moran of Jackson, Jim (Kim) Hitt of Rives Junction, Kristy (Todd) Renfer of Jackson, Dwight (Dianne) Hitt of Rives Junction, Elmer (Dawn) Hitt of Jackson; son-in-law, David Yeomans of Pleasant Lake, daughter-in-law, Rosie Hitt of Florida and son-in-law, Brian Hiatt of Jackson, two sisters; Shirley (John) Schindler, Iris (Gary) Scott. She was born in Jackson, MI, December 9, 1939 to Merwin and Arloene (Boyer) Young. Judy was a lifelong resident of Jackson. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer James Jr., daughter Kathy Yeomans, son Craig Hitt and daughter Robyn Hiatt. Judy LOVED a full house and for more than 50 years she cared for children and their families in her home daycare. Babies, too many to count, were held and loved by Gramma Judy. However, Judy's legacy is in the lives of her nine children, twenty seven grandchildren, forty three great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren! Family gatherings, with plenty of good food and drink, were her favorite times and you didn't have to be related to be family. ALL were ALWAYS invited and welcomed at Gramma Judy's House.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the JaxNaz Church (3905 Clinton Rd. Jackson, MI). Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. Judy will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park next to her husband Elmer James Jr. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Henry Ford Jackson Hospice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ChasJBurden.com for the Hitt family.
