Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 80. June was born in Jackson, Michigan on June 14, 1944, to parents Ernest and Betty VanVleet. She married Robert A.L. Ashby in December 2006. June was a homemaker, who loved going to the Gospel Barn in Hillsdale, traveling up north around the Mackinac Bridge, and shopping. She also loved being a grandma and great grandma. June is survived by her son Robert (Patricia) Ashby; grandchildren Michael (Sara) Ashby and Alicia (Brendan McCoy) Ashby; great grandchildren Michael Ashby, Jr., Alexander Fox, Jameson Blakely, Gabriel Blakely, Joseph Ashby, and Charles Ashby; sister Phyllis Wahtola, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Betty VanVleet; husband Robert A.L. Ashby; and siblings Kenny VanVleet, Doug VanVleet, Lois Fisher, and Linda Scruton. Per her wishes cremation has take place and no services are planned at this time.
