

Kathryn May Anderson Wright of Jackson, MI went to be home with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 93. She is survived by her granddaughters Kathryn Terese (Lepolean III) Hall and Twyla Cherise Wright. Great Grandchildren Victoria Terese Williams and Matthew Lepolean Hall. Special grandchildren Terrance Lamont (Tonja) Worthey, Heather Reene Worthey-Murguia, Sonya Danielle (Terry) Worthey and Devonn Christopher Worthey. Long time significant other, best friend and partner of 46 years James Titus Edwards. Great Grandchildren LaTrell DeMond Wilson, Jaelynn Renee Worthey, Brandon Santiago Murguia and Madison Worthey. Great great grandchild Royce Santiago Ramirez. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her adopted grandchildren Lori A. Lee, Sarah Ehinger, Patricia Jackson among others.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Teresa May Wright, her special daughter Patricia Anderson-Worthey, mother Mable Lou Ella May Ashworth Anderson-Caddell, father Leonard Monroe Anderson, brother Richard Anderson Sr., half-brother Jack Anderson, nephews Tyrone Anderson and Richard Anderson Jr., grandmother Mary Riley Hatton-Ashworth, grandfather Montell Ashworth, and her beloved great grandmother Mary Jane Venable-Riley, who helped raise her.
Kathryn May Anderson was born on February 5, 1923 in Lafayette, IN. Kathryn accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior as a child. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1942. Kathryn was a member of the Community AME church most of her life. For twenty years she owned and operated a licensed in home daycare. She loved dancing, journaling, reading, gardening, fashion, walking, cooking, baking, traveling, watching movies and most importantly spending time with her family and loved ones.
Kathryn was a treasure to her family and had a loving spirit and generous nature, and is loved by all she touched. Her love rippled and affected us all with her joy and zealous love of life.
Funeral services will be held at The Assembly, 140 E. Cortland St., Jackson on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with family hour starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial Woodland Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4 to 7 P.M. at the church.
