Louise Elvira Mackey

Of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin G. Mackey; daughter, Linda L.Wilkes; sister, Lois Kotlow and brother, Woodrow “Woody” Robbins. She will be remembered by her five children; Dianna Best, Carolyn Hood, Denise (Charles) Bradshaw, Alan (Rhonda) Mackey and Patty (Charlie) Bowman; sister, Maxine Deault; seventeen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was born to Louis and Cora Belle (Shafer) Robbins on December 12, 1922 in Jackson, Michigan. Louise attended Jackson Public Schools and started working when she was a young girl and carried her hard working ethic throughout her life, to include owning a family operated body shop for many years. She was a proud, hardworking and loving woman. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dyke Cypher officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family would like to acknowledge the loving and compassionate care Louise received while at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility.
