Lynn Duane Griffin

Born on March 30, 1938 to the late Walter Ray and Ethel Griffin in Jackson, Michigan. Lynn passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbra Stewart and Delores Cotton, and brother, Ray L. Griffin. Lynn leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Dale (Jeanette) Griffin of North Carolina; daughters, Tracy (Philip) Barkley of Detroit, MI and Indrea (Phillip) Buckner of Jackson, MI; three caring step-sons Mark (Jackie) Arnold and Derrick (Elisa) Hardman all of Jackson, MI and Ron (Demetria) Joplin of Ypsilanti, MI and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Lynn served six years in the United States Air Force. Lynn was a graduate of Jackson High School; he also received his Associates Degree from Jackson Community College and his Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University. He retired from the State of Michigan Department of Corrections: Parnall Facility after over 20 years of dedicated service. Funeral services will be held at Faith Temple Word of Faith Ministries on Monday June 4, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. The Family hour will also be on Monday starting at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. A public and family viewing will take place on Sunday from 3 to 7P.M. at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home.
