

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the age of 92, with her family by her side under the kind and compassionate care of the staff at the Henry Ford Hospice Home. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harry Oexler; six children, Jack (Mary) Murray, Jo Ann (Mike) McLaury-Thomson, Sue (Mark) Herrington, Lou Ann (Brian) Maxson,Vickie (Randy) Litteral and David (Jennifer) Oexler; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Fritz and Phyllis McDaniels as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Bryon Murray and Makinley Heard; sisters, Doris Hartner, Holly Partee, Jean Maddock and Clara "Kie Kie" Henderson; brother, Richard Fall. Mary Lou was born on May 11, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan to Clinton and Flossie (Severance) Fall and attended Jackson Public Schools. She married Harry Oexler on August 28, 1959 and together they raised a family. Mary Lou enjoyed an active life. She was a Coach for the Special Olympics, a longtime member of the Eagles F.O.E 612, the American Legion and participated with the Relay for Life. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A Celebration of her life will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, 49202) on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. with a Lodge of Sorrow Service at 6:00 P.M. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, Michigan Area 19 or to the Henry Ford Hospice Home.
