Age 90, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at home October 20, 2011, under the care of Allegiance Hospice and his wonderful caregivers, Rose Cummings and Tracey Hartman. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Although Max endured some traumatic losses of lives and loves throughout his life, his spirit never dimmed. He demonstrated for us every day that love is what you do, not just what you say. Max worked as an electrician and recently was awarded his 65 year pin. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma; sons, Douglas and Terry Bott; daughter, Vickie Bott; brothers, George and Lyle Bott; and sister, Clara Tharp. He is survived by son, Gary Bott of Tennessee; daughter, Rose (Dennis) Uhl of Rives Junction; daughter-in-law, J.B. Bott of Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer and Matt Uhl, Travis and Tara Bott, Gary Jr., and Ricky Bott, Tracy Tibbs, Susan Tatum; numerous great grandchildren, brother, Laverne Bott and sister, Hazel McCarthy. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until time of service.
