Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the age of 67 while under the kind and compassionate care of the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Burzynski) Kilgore; son, Michael (Stef) Kilgore; daughter, Jennifer (Maurice) Thomas; grandsons, Barry Shepherd, Noah Thomas, and Alex Kilgore; mother, Betty Jo (Paul) Salazar; siblings, Sylvester (Marty) Kilgore, Brenda (Howard) Flint, Nancy (Chester) Osborne, Deanna Weiler, Donna Kilgore, and Vern Kilgore, Jr. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Vern Haskel Kilgore and brother, Blaine Kilgore. He was born in Virgie, Kentucky on September 7, 1951. After serving twenty-two years in the United States Air Force he owned and operated a trucking company. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and spending time with family and friends. A service honoring Mr. Kilgore will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1:45 p.m. in the Oak Chapel Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the chapel for visitation at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home or to any U.S. Veterans charity group.
