Aunt Zell & My Cousins - you are forever in my heart. I am sorry I could not be at your home going but believe me I was their hugging my cousins and wishing you could have been with us just a little longer. Thank you for the memories and the unconditional love that was much needed. This was my Grandfathers sister(Barnes). Aunt Zell and Uncle Fats would come to Tazewell all the time when I was young( Margo). I loved her and my Uncle and when the trips stopped I missed seeing them both. To my family I love you too and God Bless.

I'm desperately sad right now Lord, but I am also comforted at the same time. My Aunt Zell is gone but now she walks with You.  Free from pain, suffering, and life on earth.  Cousins...as we grieve, let us be reminded that our strength comes from above. I will miss Aunt Zell; her holiday cards, her cooking, and most of all, her physical presence but one thing I know for sure, she woke up in Jesus' arms. May God continually be your Comforter. I am so truly sorry to hear of the passing of your dear Grandmother. I will never ever forget this wonderful woman and have so many memories of us playing down in her basement! You know that all of us Harrell's felt we were your cousins, some kind of way. We have been together for a life time. I was so excited when I saw Mrs. Hopson at the Southside Reunion this summer.  She looked good and as so many have said, always had something nice to say.  She never failed to ask about "mom and dad" and let me know that she was praying for them.  I hold you up in prayer and am so grateful that you all came to see about us this past week.  It just blew me away.  Know that I love you ALL.

Aunt Zell will truly be missed.  She was a tower of strength for me when I was in need of a listening ear.  I never saw her have a bad day, she was such a loving, caring, sharing and spirited person.  Aunt Zell could surely wear her hats.  May GOD continue to BLESS you all.

Mrs Hopson lived a long full life and for that we can say " Thank-you Lord"    Although her death seems final, her memories and legacy are forever. I marvel at the greatest of your mother who loved her children unconditionally and leaves behind a legacy of love for other children as well. I always admired how Mother Hopson allowed her children the freedom to grow, learn and make their own choices and at the same time being there with words of wisdom and support. 

Long after the children left the nest I can remember Carol Pryor and myself frequently stopping by to visit Mother Hopson.  There was a welcoming warmth that Mother Hopson created in her home that made you just desire to be in her presence. Mother Hopson had a great sense of humor and made us laugh and we always left her home feeling better about ourselves. Mother Hopson was one of the best cook’s in town and when you entered her home there was always something good to eat on her kitchen counter, a cake, ham or other tasty treats.  I hated chitterlings, and she even made chitterlings taste good. 

My heart extends prayers to the family and the community, which will be absent the physical presence of a true champion, but the strength of her character and spiritual presence is infinite.

Mother Hopson was a wonderful person. She was a mother to all of her children's friends and would feed us at anytime we stopped bye. I enjoyed many conversation with her when I came into town just to say hi.  I will miss her greatly as I did your dad. Mrs. Hopson was one you could alway count on at anytime with a heart of gold and a loving smile.
