Shirley Mae Atkins

Age 84, passed away peacefully March 5, 2021, at Mission Point Health Campus (formerly RidgeCrest), with family by her side. She was born on August 28, 1936, in Bellevue, Iowa, to Ken & Jean Maloney. Shirley loved her time spent raising her 4 boys, and later in life worked at Michigan Bell/AT&T, then also at Ambs Message Center in Jackson. She enjoyed walking, reading, knitting, spending time with her family, and her cat, Ashley. Shirley is survived by three sons, Dave (Linda) Atkins, Steve (Kay Fleming) Atkins, Tim (Wayne Gooding) Atkins, daughter-in-law Pennie Atkins, grandchildren Heather, William, Autumn, Ben, great-grandchildren Masen, Ciara, Emeri, Dominic, Liam, great-great granddaughter Madisen, sister Barbara (John) Sitar. Preceded in death by her parents, son Doug Atkins, sister Beverly Spence. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and Friends are welcome to attend her graveside service, Saturday, March 20, 2021, 11:00 AM, at Fifield Cemetery, 3585 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Cascades Humane Society, Jackson, MI.
