Thomas Harris Sr.

Thomas Harris Sr. known to many as “Skeeter” was born in Decatur, Georgia, on August 11, 1943, to the late Minnie Lee (Harris) Belcher. At a young age, Thomas and his mother moved to Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1962 then later attended Jackson Community College. In July of 1965, Thomas married Ardline Potts, this union blessed them with four children.

Thomas was a hard-working man. He was employed by TRW Automotive's Kelsey-Hayes for several years then went into business with his wife as owners of Snow White Laundry and Cleaners. He was compassionate, loyal, and always put others before himself. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His favorite pass time was barbequing and entertaining. He instilled wisdom and love into everyone he encountered. People of all ages would gravitate toward him because of his beautiful, humorous and generous spirit.

On December 13, 2022, Thomas gained his wings. He is preceded in death by his wife; Ardline (Potts) Harris; daughter Denise (Harris) Cotton, his mother; Minnie Lee (Harris) Belcher, stepfather Calvin Belcher, brothers; Donald Belcher, Melvin Belcher and Ronald Belcher grandparents; Albert and Adeline (Gibson) Harris.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory son; Thomas Harris Jr, daughters; Theresa Harris and Angelene (Harris) Patton, brother; Jerome (Beverly) Belcher, sisters; Carolyn Armstrong, Betty Rajabian, Annette Belcher, Olivia Belcher, and Letha Summerour, grandchildren; Trumaine Harris, Demitriana (Demi) Harris and Angel Patton, great-grandchildren; Tyzae’ Harris, Ky’zir, Zion, Za’Khi, Za’han, and Zya.

God blessed us with Thomas Harris Sr for 79 years, and we are truly thankful!
