Valerie was born May 25, 1944 to Spence Paul and Kathleen (Fraser) Stegenga in Detroit, Michigan.
She is survived by her children, Kathy, Dana, Tony, Rob and Daniel; and grandchildren Tammy, Lucas, Gavin, Brinley, Hadley and Tara. She and her husband Floyd Dewayne "Wayne" Speer were married on January 29, 1973. They had over 50 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death last year.
Valerie was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Earl, her daughter Connie and her sister Marilyn. She worked for more than 30 years at Associated Springs, working as an inspector. She also spent 20 years owning her own business, and working at Val's Country Corner for 7 years.
Cremation has taken place.
