Vincent Lloyd Baugh of Jackson, Michigan passed away quietly at home with family at the age of 102 on December 12, 2021. Alert and cognitively sound until the end of his long life, he often shared memories of his long life with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. His childhood included delivery boy for speakeasies in the Roaring 20’s, high schooler at Detroit’s Northern High School after the stock market crash, and country boy in Hudson, Michigan where he met and married his life partner, Donabelle (Goodsell) Baugh. As a young adult he was an honorable soldier in World War II (stationed in Antwerp, Belgium), time study engineer (diploma earned at General Motors Institute in Flint), Royal Oak entrepreneur with his brother (the Farm and Garden Shop at the corner of Main and 11 Mile Road), and the young father of 4 children. He had a lifetime interest in Boy Scouts and supported troops in Royal Oak and Rochester, Michigan. His long life and remarkable health - claiming never to have had a headache in his life - attest to a peaceful life well-lived with honest and steady convictions. 14 years after the death of his wife he frequently expressed his love for her. Another one of the greatest generation and an inspiration to all is now laid to rest.
