Ali Steele 1945-2014. Surrounded by her loving family Ali Steele peacefully passed away on August 22nd after a valiant four plus year battle against ovarian cancer. She joined a clinical trial at Mayo with the knowledge that it would help advance future cures. As an ultimate volunteer she lived the Vincentian ideal caring more for others than herself. " A giver not a taker" she will be remembered forever for the selfless attitude that touched so many people.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy, her children and spouses Sean and Karen Laura and Brendan, her grandchildren Montgomery, Samantha, Madison and Ava. Her loving sister Mary and her many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held for all she has touched will be held at 11: 00 a.m., Thursday, August 28th at Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mayo Clinic at www.mayoclinic.org in Ali’s memory.
