

Born on July 21, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, he was one of 4 children of John Henry Gimbel, Sr. and Rosine F. Gimbel. He had two brothers and a sister all deceased.
After graduating from Olney High School in 1943, he joined the U.S. Air Corps during World War II and served as a 2nd Lt. Fighter pilot. Al was married to Nina Merle Davis (deceased) for twenty years and they had four children.
Al was a graduate of Florida State University and the University Of Florida School of Law.
He owned and operated the Credit Service Bureau, Inc. for several years, prior to deciding to open a Law Practice.
In 1968, he married Roberta Jane Boyd who was by his side when he died.
Al was active in, the Little Theater of Jacksonville, Southside Business Men's Club, where he held several offices, Stewardship Chairman and President of the Congregation of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, President of the Arlington Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of the Associated Credit Bureaus of Florida, President of the American Collectors Association of Florida, Board Member of the Associated Credit Bureaus of America, and was a Member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville Beach, Fl.
His loving family includes his wife Jane, children Gilbert, Michael, Michele and Daniel, 6 Grandsons, 7 Granddaughters, 6 Great-grandsons, 4 Great-granddaughters, 5 Nephews, 4 Nieces, 11 Great-nephews, and 8 Great-nieces.
Al's life was celebrated privately by his family. Arrangements are under the direction HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
