He was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin on March 22, 1942. Jon graduated from Big Foot High School in Walworth, WIsconsin, attended the United States Military Academy West Point and received his master’s degree from Georgia Tech.
Jon retired from the US Army in 1981. During his service he graduated from Airbourne, Ranger and Rotor Wing Flight Schools. He served two combat tours in Vietnam and received numerous awards including a Purple Heart and The Bronze Star (Fourth Oak Leaf Cluster).
He loved his family most of all. He is survived by his wife Sandra (Baldwin) of 58 years, daughter Christy Chung (Kevin), son Gregory, daughter Tracey MacKoul (Rick), Grandchildren, Ashley Jewels (Chad), Katelyn MacKoul, Palmer, and Carson Chung. Great granddaughter, Riley. His brothers Gordon of Richland Center, Wisconsin and Mark of Blair, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at 10am, at Windsor Pointe “The Cabana” 4060 San Pablo Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
