September 24th 1935 – September 18th 2023
Anabel P. Kiley (Belle) of St Augustine Beach, FL passed away on September 18th 2023. She was born in England, Arkansas on September 24th 1935, daughter of the late Elizabeth and Elmer Price. She is predeceased by her younger siblings Mary Jane Colson (TX) and Merle Price (LA).
Belle was raised in West Monroe, Louisiana and it was there where she met the love of her life, the late Michael John “Jack” Kiley, Sr. Jack was from Derby, CT and stationed in Lake Charles, LA where he served in the US Airforce. She left her home state and moved to Connecticut where she was welcomed by Jack’s very large Kiley family. They married on October 6, 1956.
They raised 4 children - Michael John Kiley, Jr. (Lisa) of Vero Beach, FL. Karen Kiley of Ponte Vedra, FL. Katie Kiley (Todd Philcox) of Ponte Vedra, FL and Jonathan Kiley of Jupiter, FL.
Belle had successful careers at both the Ansonia Redevelopment Agency and then many years with Aetna in Hartford, CT. She retired from Aetna in 1994 and relocated to Hilton Head, SC. She spent many active years in Hilton Head surrounded by a large group of dear friends. Hobbies included traveling, cruising, book clubs, games and volunteering. One of her unique passions was attending professional Storytelling Festivals throughout the Southeast.
Her most true passion in life was being with her family. Her 3 grandchildren Kiley, Charlotte and Ella were the center of her universe. From diapers to grade school, high school & college graduations and all activities in between, she was there for it all.
She was equally devoted to 2 step-grandchildren, Nick Fasano (Lori) from Vero Beach, FL, Jessica Morrison (Dan) of Hopewell Junction, NY and great grandchildren Nico, Adrianna, Kiley and Hudson. Belle also leaves behind 3 first cousins, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends in Florida.
Belle’s kindness, sense of humor and positivity will be missed by so many. She truly was the life of the party.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Belle’s memory, please show an act of kindness. As Belle would say “just be nice, it’s easy.”
