Candy Olsen died March 17, 2012 at the McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville, FL after a ten year battle with melanoma. Candy is survived by her father, Dwight Hibbard; sons, Bradley and Christopher Olsen; and granddaughter, Graely Olsen. Born to Dwight and Gerry Hibbard on January 9, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL, Candy spent the majority of her life living in Cincinnati, OH and Jacksonville. After a successful career in marketing, Candy retired in 2001 and focused her time and attention on her family and friends. With her adventurous spirit and sharp sense of wit, Candy was an inspiration to many throughout her life. She was a world traveler, excellent golfer, and still holds the record for the largest fish caught by the family. Candy was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother and loyal friend. She will be deeply missed. Friends may meet and greet the family in the Surf Club at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, March 23, 2012 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, well-wishers may send contributions to the Melanoma Research Foundation in Candy’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. www.hardage-giddensbeacheschapel.com.
