Carol Sue Harvey

Carol Sue Harvey, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter to Clifford Raymond Brainerd and Pauline Alma Brainerd (Linville), died on April 1, 2023. She passed away at her home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was born September 23, 1950 in Williams, Arizona.

Carol Sue graduated from Barstow High School in Barstow, California in 1968 and attended college classes for two years in Indiana at Fort Wayne. She had moved to Indiana where Carol Sue met and married Michal Lee Harvey on May 31,1975. Carol Sue worked at Indiana State Hospital working with Down Syndrome children and managed an assisted living facility for persons with Down Syndrome. She poured her heart and soul into the experience as the loving, thoughtful and hard working persona she was. She carried the same love theme throughout her life for any and all she knew. Fortunately for her, her children and her entire family, she spent basically the rest of her life raising daughter Danielle Lee Harvey-Ray, and sons, Bryce Layton Harvey and Aaron Michael Harvey. Carol Sue worked also as a home Health care person for approximately ten years spreading her love and caring as far and long as she could. She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church and loved going to movies with her husband, reading, gardening, mystery shows and being a grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Michael Harvey, children Danielle Harvey-Ray and spouse Johnny Ray, Bryce Harvey, Aaron Harvey and spouse Cassandra Harvey, Grandchildren Ethan Harvey, Abigail Harvey, Grant Harvey, Gavin Hazlett, John Ray, Haley Ray, and Emily Ray. Carol’s mother, father and siblings have passed.

Funeral Service will be held graveside at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023. In honor of Carol, donations to the Tesori Foundation in Jacksonville, Florida, a charity devoted to Down Syndrome at https://tesorifamilyfoundation.org/ would be grateful.
