Last night i went to dannys grave. as i stood there thinking of dannys life i felt a sense of calmness in my spirit knowing that he lived a good life and that i will never forget how good of a friend to me he was. when i got in my truck and drove away i was weeping tears of sadness knowing how much i miss him. someone once told me you are only dead when people stop talking about you. You will never be dead to me in that sense because i have so many good memories of you danny and if anyone asks about you i have alot to say. I am a true believer that your soul will find its way heaven

My Darling son Daniel I posted the pictures of your grave marker with the floral arrangement your Cousin Michelle made for you along with a Photo from December 11th of your brother Adam hanging Angels in your name on the Angel tree at the Cemetery. My Darling Son Daniel I attended Mass yesterday One Month since the Lord took you to Heaven. I found your shinny penny you left for me when you were five you used to tell me your shinny & magic. Words cannot express the sorrow in all of our hearts your Dad, Nicholas, Adam, Alex & Kylie. We miss you every day. I hear you at the door but you are not there. I found the picture of you holding the baby alligator at the alligator farm. So many wonderful memories of your life with us. I pray every day for you. I know you are protecting us our guardian Angel in Heaven. All of my Love Mom

We are heartbroken for the loss of such a sweet, kind, friendly and respectful young man. Our family loved him and was always glad to see his happy smile and hear his great, joyful laughter !  We and our kids always called him "Danny Boy" or in his younger years "Waldo" 

We were actually stopped in traffic as the road was blocked off on Atlantic Blvd. and Girvin Rd. after the tragic accident that took Danny's dear life from all those who loved him. We were crushed when we found out it was him ! 

 Don & I could not attend the wake or funeral to give our condolences in person because we had travel plans to fly to New York on Oct. 20th but we want all his family to know we are praying for your Peace and Comfort. You raised a very good boy, we will never forget him and Bless his soul in Heaven forever !!!

Today, November 12th is my birthday.  And the only thing I want is to see Daniel,  to hear his voice and his laugh. But I don't get to hear his voice or laugh today and it tears me up inside. I loved Danny, he was.. he is my brother. I am still in such disbelief that he is no longer here. I wish I had told him that I loved him the last time I saw him but I simply said "see you tomorrow bro" and I never got to see him again. I wish I had listened more to the advice he always gave me, I know I could definitely use more of his advice right now. I visited his grave today to talk to him and let him know how much I missed him and that I wish he was here, today is the worst birthday I have had in my life because my brother is not here with the rest of our family. I have never been good at writing so I really don't know what else to say other than that I love and miss you Danny. Always have and always will.

As all of you do, our family misses Danny terribly. We miss his voice laughing in our kitchen...we miss honking and waving as that red truck drove by...we miss his hugs and his smile.  I met Danny through several friends...each time thinking "Wow, small world."  But it isn't...that's just how many people in this community knew and loved him.  This village will not be the same without him.
To his family ~ you should be so proud of yourselves...you raised a fantastic guy that would do anything for anybody.  It speaks volumes about you all and the love that is present in your lives.  God be with you always...granting you strength and knowledge that we are all bigger than these bones.

Family and friends of Danny, aka Waldo .  Danny was a very special person. There are years of history and memories between us all. We go back all the way to jiffylube days and the white stang 5.0 . It is truly an honor and privilege to know Danny and be able to call him a friend. He will be greatly missed....he's the kinda guy that could touch your life and influence you to be more positive without you ever realizing it...In his laugh..his handshake ..and all his meticulous ways...hard to think that we won't be rolling the big trucks toward the beach again....he will forever be in our hearts and in our thoughts....till we meet again my friend

It's hard to believe my buddy Danny is gone. Everytime I hear a truck with loud tires I'm think Danny is going down the road. Had some great time with Danny. So hard to believe his not going to pull up in my driveway again to hang out.  See you again one day my freind.

Danny Johnson was the real deal. He had an expert approach to everything he did. He was a fast learner and extremely intelligent. I miss you Danny

When Danny lived with Callie on girvin I was living in Trevor green we would hang out nearly every day. He got me into some cool hobbies of keeping replies and he hatched some bearded dragons. I ended up buying a bunch of the lizards from them as him and Callie had so many pets he needed to get rid of some of them. He even had a pet alligator!

When Danny lived at James house with me in Arlington when he had the white mustang. James dog was a 110 pound pit bull that I taught to pull me on the skateboard. Once danny saw me run the dog he gave it a try. You had to run fast and jump on your board quick or the dog would attack the board. Once danny learned how to control the dog he would always want to take him because it was so much fun. Our favorite Movie was lord of the rings. Danny loved heavy metal music and riding his dirt bike

Danny was a great artist. One time he drew a picture for my English class in 12th grade and I made an A on the assignment. I was so proud of him when he won the statewide contest for the American Cancer Society I remember my mom recorded it on the news with a vcr when he met the governor.  So many good memories of him I just can't stop gushing with emotions and thoughts  of all the times we had.

Danny loved his family very much. He especially looked up to his cousin Roxy. He spoke so highly of her all the time and when I finally met her we became instant friends. Her speech at the funeral was very moving as if Daniels spirit was right there with her the whole time. I love you Roxy. Thank you so much for being such a blessing in dannys life he loved you with all his heart

Hanging out in the trailer next to swamp man with uncle Walter and Sid  was a regular occurrence for us as teenagers. We used to sneak up on the landfill late at night where you could see all the way to the beach and downtown we were wild young skater punk rock heavy metal and rap listening kids with the loud giant speaker box that would rattle the trunk loudly always on a mission to have fun. Those were the best days of our lives just best buddy's hanging out with friends  doing mischievous teenage things that built our character and taught us lessons. Those memories will stay with me dannyboy I will never forget them

I helped danny on many tree jobs but the most memorable one was this house in Riverside where he made $200 to cut one branch. It was like 100 feet up in this tree danny called a bull pine because it was so huge. The limb was broken in half and hanging above the house. He was up there for a while until he figured out the best way to cut it and we were relieved when it was on the ground in what he later described as the hairiest job ever.

Waldo was a cool character  we used to love playing video games skateboarding our favorite cartoon as teenagers was beavis and Butt-Head.  Nothing but great memories of always laughing and having a great time. We used to drive my mazda323 out to thrill hill in Arlington with the boards strapped in on the surfboard racks. Waldo would do the biggest high speed turns across both lanes while grabbing rail with the wheels screaching loudly it was really impressive. Then he would switch his stance back to regular foot with the board facing backward and gain more speed then do another huge turn. We spent many hours skating the hills. Our favorite spot was the big hill and colony cove. Hiking the trails from his uncles land on girvin all the time and rebuilt monument the timiquan trails  we were always doing fun stuff he surfed with me a few times but he liked skating better we loved going out to the beach. Rush 2 was our favorite video game as young teens. We were fearless we used to jump the fence at kona skatepark like 3 am and charge it

When I first met him, Daniel and I were  went to Peterson Academy together. We spent a lot of time together riding to and from school nearly every day. As with me, Danny became close friends with my brother "Phat Don" and Danny's nickname then was "Waldo" because of his where's waldo like striped hat he wore while skating in winter time down the street. I am reminded of when he won the art contest and got the award for drawing the memorable "city of smoke" and got to meet the governor of FL. He was an avid skate boarder in high school and so full of life. He grew up to be a good man and talented tree cutter. He was a man of integrity all his life. He always treated others the way he would like to be treated. He was a righteous character and followed Jesus's admonition to love his neighbor. He was a true friend who indeed made this world a better place. We all miss Danny now, but I know that we will meet again and that will be in a much better place and time.

My buddy Dboy  I recently waved to u driving multiple times in the past 6 months. Always catching ourselves honking at each other or putting a peace out in the air to each other. Or on beach Blvd after work that day we were side by side windows went down and we talked riding side by side with no worries of the traffic behind us. I miss u Dboy and I luv u my friend. Until we meet again buddy u will b in my thoughts always...

I am forever hurt knowing i can't talk to Daniel ever again. He was such a good friend to me.

Yesterday when i walked out the door for work i saw some guys cutting my nieghbors trees and i was instantly struck with memories of danny. He was a hard worker with an uncanny ability of performing under pressure. To get the job done right and on time was always his duty. Those are the attributes of a true professional. Danny was an inspiration to me through many tough times in my life. He taught me to never quit persuing my goals and that nothing will ever be handed to you, you have to go out and earn it yourself. It has almost been two weeks since his passing and i still find myself crying uncontrollably throughout the day every day over the loss of my best friend. I am so lucky to have known daniel. If everyone on earth were more like daniel i am sure the world would be a better place. We all love you dannyboy! I just hope when my time comes i get to see your smiling face in heaven

Daniel was one of my best friends since we were teenagers. The tragic news of his death is one of the hardest things i have ever had to deal with. He was a loyal loving person with so much to live for. It is a shame his life was cut short. I think about him everyday. The johnson family and i will always be bound by the memories of him
