

David Herbert Wilkinson of Neptune Beach, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2015 at the age of 73. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, David graduated with a BA from the University of North Carolina and received an MBA from University of North Florida.
He was Director of Internal Finance & Accounting, Prudential Insurance Co, where he oversaw offices in Philadelphia, Jacksonville & Minneapolis. He was a Certified Life Underwriter, Microsoft Certified Engineer, and an instrument-rated pilot. David was active in the Civil Air Patrol for many years, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow.
David was an avid student of Native American history and enjoyed spending time in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Sandberg Wilkinson, EdD; son John C. Wilkinson, PhD and wife Amanda and grandsons Aaron and Joshua of Fargo, North Dakota; brother Albert Wilkinson and wife Terrie of Charlotte, NC; brothers-in-law Fred Sandberg, John (Sandra) Sandberg; and numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Denby.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 9, 11:00am, at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 San Juan Drive, Ponte Vedra Beach, where David was a member.
Reverend Caroline Kramer will officiate.
