Me and my husband met doc a few years back and quickly felt like we knew him for a long time. He was the true Southern gentleman !!
We feel blessed to have met him and his wonderful wife and we will miss him a lot.

Met Doc thought tailgating a few years ago and quickly got to see why so many people loved to be around him . His smile and kindness it was contagious !
He quickly became just like family. I will always remember the times I was around him and I will miss seeing him and hearing his laugh

Doc and Cindy have been neighbors and friends for 40 years.  Doc will be missed by so many among family and friends; he was so well liked.  Rest in peace, my friend.

Cindy I am so sorry to hear about Richard "Doc" I only met you once. My Grandfather was Richards uncle. I will always have fond memories of him he was a great guy.

Our fondest memories of J.L, Louise, Richard and Jim are  when they lived in "theburg." Salt water in their blood, they moved back to the coast. Boys off to college etc. Then we got the"prize" of our life, Cindy.  Just meeting her you loved her.  So much love, laughter and memories shared over the years with this family. Our hearts are rejoicing knowing we will be together again.  Psalm 30:5b "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (KJ)

Dear Cindy,
Words cannot express how truly sorry I am to hear of Docs passing.  He was such a sweet, kind and loving man.  I've never met two people more suited for one another.  You both shared something special, a bond, that most people never have.  I'll always remember the roses he sent on your anniversary - added one for every year you were married.  May all the love, memories,  joy, and happiness you shared help you through this difficult time.

Annette and I have been truly blessed to have known Doc (Cindy too) and call him our friend. He was the model husband and the consummate gentlemen.  We have so many awesome memories of Doc and they are all positive. I can't ever remember a time that I saw Doc mad or not smiling. He was an awesome employee that probably never got enough recognition for his contributions. 
Although he tried to make our oldest son a Gator but failed our other two sons were both Gator's. He was passionate about sports but nothing surpassed his love for Cindy!
Doc I love you brother and Annette and I send our deepest sympathy to Cindy and the family.


I didn't know you guys outside of Florida Field, but it is said that when you know someone inside Florida Field you truly know them. We had some great times and some not so great times. But I will always remember his smiling face and the soreness of my hand after he high-fived me after a Gator TD or big play. Any friends I brought up to experience section 63 always remarked what a super nice couple sat next to me. I will alway cherish those days at Floria Field. My condolences to Cindy and the rest of his friends and family. The Gator family lost a true friend. 

My sincere condolences.  We all love Doc and will miss him greatly.  He was a very kind and gentle man and always had a smile.   He was a loving husband and was blessed with a loving wife.  I will never forget my last visit with him when he reached out and squeezed my hand in friendship.

My heart, love and prayers go out to you and family. What a great guy. Always happy go lucky. Will always remember working with Doc and cutting down trees and painting your house and of course sharing a beer or two over the years. Heaven just got a whole lot more fun and more than likely Gator blue and orange.

There are so many memories but most recent was back in August last year.  We enjoyed an evening of contemporary jazz with Euge Groove and Peter White at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

I have truly lost my best friend of many years. So many wonderful memories over the years with Doc and Cindy. The memories go on and on.  It’s peaceful today knowing that Doc is in another place, a place where he is cancer and pain free. We love you Cindy. We will always be there for you.
