

E. Allen Cunningham of Jacksonville Beach FL passed away on April 23, 2022 following extended illnesses. Allen was born in Stanford, Kentucky on January 23, 1950 to Ed and Jeanne Cunningham. He grew up in Jacksonville , graduating from Terry Parker High where he exceled as a 3-sport athletic letterman, Class of 1968.
Allen was married to Debi Lienau Cunningham for almost 54 years and was the proud father to their son, Chris. He retired after 21 years of active duty in the US Army in 1991. He continued his education at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, graduating with a BS in Education in 2 short years with honors. He then began a career in teaching and coaching at Southside Middle School. In retirement he enjoyed years of playing golf with his son, brother-in-law Bob, father Ed and other retired Duval County School System coaches. He had a lifelong love for music which included playing the guitar. His home was never without music.
Allen is survived by his wife, Debi, his son Chris (Kristi), sister Anne English (Bob), granddaughter Maggie Cox (Cameron), his beloved Aunt Sara Cosby, sister-in-law Janice Meadows (Dave), brother-in-law Alan Lienau (Sally Love Connally), many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held on April 29, 2022 with family and close friends present. The family requests others who knew Allen please take a moment of reflection in tribute to a life led with honor, honesty and integrity.
