

MORTON - James E. Morton, Jr., 73, passed away February 14, 2011. Jim was born on January 16, 1938, in Savannah, Ga. Jim served in the U.S. Army before graduating from the University of Alabama. He became a Special Agent in the FBI, where he was stationed in CA, UT, and AL, retiring in the Jacksonville Division. Jim also worked as an investigator for the Florida Bar Assoc. He and his family have been long-time residents of Atlantic Beach, FL.
Jim was an accomplished marksman that enjoyed sporting clays, playing cards, fishing, and golf. He was most passionate about his beloved, Alabama Crimson Tide. His greatest accomplishment was that he was dearly loved.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joan; son, Jay Morton (wife, Sarah), daughter, Jodie Morton Crews (husband, Bryan); and his 4 grandchildren.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, Fl.
