John William Morris III, 44, passed away suddenly at his home on January 20, 2011. He was a lifelong resident of the Beaches, graduated from Fletcher High School Class of ’84 and member of Beaches Chapel Church. John earned his degree in Culinary Arts and served as an Executive Chef more than 20 years at establishments such as the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead and Ragtime Tavern. He was an avid outdoors man enjoying fishing and hunting and will be fondly remembered as giving, generous and highly intelligent.
Preceded in death by his father, John William Morris, Jr., he is survived by his wife, Niki Morris; daughter, Destiny White; mother, Michele Morris of Clyde, NC and sister, Carrie Bouygues of Greenfield, SC.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Sat. January 22, 2011 at Beaches Chapel Church, 610 Florida Blvd., Neptune Beach, FL., with Rev. Steve McCoy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jax Beach.
