Jon Arthur Marshe

Jon Arthur Marshe, age 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed on September 20, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born January 10, 1939, in Janesville, WI; he graduated from Memorial High School, Beloit, WI in 1957. He enlisted in the U S Marine Corps on November 5, 1957, where he was promoted to Private 1st Class upon graduation from advanced combat training. He qualified as a sharpshooter and earned the distinctive marksmanship badge. He was honorably discharged on November 4, 1960, with the good conduct medal.

Jon was predeceased by his mother, Marian Fessenden Marshe, father, George Everett Marshe, brother Frederic Marshe, and sisters Laura Marshe Petty and Carol Ann Marshe. He is survived by his children, Scott Marshe, Dan Marshe, and Laura Marshe, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, sisters Karen McCommon, Joan Scrivner (Ben), brother George (Pete) Marshe, and his cat, Girl. Jon leaves his many friends at the Riverside Presbyterian House, Jacksonville, Fl.

Jon was a business owner, worked in furniture sales. and was a home inspector. He took after his mother in his proficiency with crossword puzzles. Jon loved jazz, particularly song artists Nora Jones, Boz Skaggs, and Miles Davis. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks and was an accomplished photographer specializing in black and white photos and photo developing.

Graveside service will be on October 27, 2025, at 11:00am at H Warren Smith Cemetery, 1538 2nd Ave N, Jacksonville Beach, Fl.
