

She was born on November 15, 1930 in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Belton Bielkiewicz, and Matilda Marks Braun and Gene Braun. She married her husband of 50 years, Leon G. Collins on August 22, 1948, in Breakabeen, NY.
Joy and Leon moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1960 with their young family, eventually owning and operating Jax Beach Glass. In the early years at the beaches, Joy worked for Dr. Joe Jumber. Later she went to work at Beaches Bank as a teller. She retired as a bank officer.
Joy was active in her church and a faithful servant of her Lord. She also became active transcribing books into Braille and her work was recognized by the Library of Congress.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include her sisters: Patricia Pressley, Daytona Beach, FL, and Joanne Rettie, Cobleskill, NY; brother: Belton Bielkiewicz, Shreveport, LA; children: Lawrence J. (Linda) Collins, St. Augustine, FL, Dennis Lee (Peggy) Collins, Jacksonville, FL, Adrienne (Steve) Madison, Cobleskill, NY, and Dale Marie (Wayne Felt) Stillman, Rensselaer, NY; grandchildren: Seth (Josie) Madison, Stephanie Madison, and Jason Collins; and great-grandchild, Asher Madison.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 20th, at 10:00, with funeral service following at 11:00, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 Eighth Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL, 32250.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund, Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
