

Marilyn Hannah Crocker, age 88, Ponte Vedra Beach, died at home on June 4, 2013 with her husband by her side. Born May 6, 1925 to Harry I. Hannah and Vivian Britton Hannah in Mattoon, IL, she attended Sweet Briar College, graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Voice and Piano, and attended The Juilliard School of Music. An accomplished singer, she performed at the Chicago Lyric Opera and starred in numerous amateur productions. Although singing was her passion, her true spirit shone through in her volunteer efforts. Marilyn served on the board of the Center for International Visitors in Phila., personally inviting hundreds of visitors from dozens of countries to get to know the US and its culture through homestays. She served, along with her husband Ken, as a guardian ad litem here in FL for many years, representing abused, neglected and abandoned children. She was an avid gardener, traveler, artist and hostess. No one threw a better party.
Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers Norman B. Hannah and David M. Hannah. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Charles Kenneth Crocker and two daughters, Camilla C. Wodehouse (Chuck) of Ponte Vedra Beach, and Constance C. Betzendahl (Richard) of Kennett Square, PA, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at The Sawgrass Beach Club, 9795 Summer Place, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
