O.R. Rice

O.R. (Olive) Rice passed away Friday December 27th around 8:00 pm! O.R. was born in Eubank, KY in 1922. He was a graduate of Campbellsville College, KY and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He was a Southern Baptist Pastor serving in churches across the Southeast. He retired as Pastor of FBC Jacksonville Beach in 1984. Since then, he has served as an Interim Pastor in churches across North Florida and Southern Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his wife and wonderful mother to their children, Geneva Lovell Rice of Mt Vernon, KY. She passed away on January 15, 2019 after being married for 72 years. He is survived by his three children: Karen Heninger and husband Steve, Birmingham, AL, Betty Hatton and husband Mark, Neptune Beach, FL and John Rice and wife Sara, St Petersburg, FL. He has eight Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren who love him dearly and he loved them even more!

O.R. served his Lord honorably and true to the best of his ability. And we are confident he was welcomed by his Master with a ‘Well done, Good and Faithful servant! Enter into your Rest!’ Amen. And Amen!

Graveside funeral services will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32218; on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:30AM. Line up in LANE 3.
