

Dick was born July 22, 1935 in New Haven, CT. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Following his service he attended Rollins College, Winter Park, FL and graduated from the University of Florida in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Dick was a prominent dairy industry nutritionist including having a long relationship with Gustafson Farms.
Dick was a longtime member, supporter, and leader of many Jacksonville community organizations including the Jaycees, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Greater Jacksonville Open, Tournament Players Championship, University Club, Ponte Vedra Club and Theater Jacksonville where he was a performer as well as a past President. His longest community association was with Deerwood Country Club where he was a founding member, past President of the Dixie Classic, and an avid golfer.
Dick spent the past years in semi-retirement travelling the world with his beloved wife Margie and enjoying the love and companionship of his family and friends.
Dick is predeceased by his grandparents Frederick Gardner Crabb and Grace Mae Crabb, father Richard Carnell Crabb, Sr., mother Charlotte Cecelia Coogan Crabb, sister Mary Eileen Crabb, and stepdaughter Kathy Chadwick Bloom.
Dick is survived by his wife Margie Ruth Crabb of Jacksonville, brother Roger Alan Crabb (Mary) of Laguna Beach, CA, daughter Karen Crabb Foster (Mike) of Greensboro, NC, daughter Robin Crabb Burdett (Bob) of Fairfax, VA, step-sons Douglas Edward Chadwick (Stephanie) of Jesup, GA and Dennis Russell Williams of St. Simons Island, GA, and grandchildren Faith Chadwick, Courtney Foster, Samantha Burdett, Grady Foster, and Casey Foster.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the staff of Mayo Clinic for their thoughtful and caring treatment.
At Dick’s request in lieu of a memorial service he wishes for a celebration of his life by embracing Margie and his family informally.
