Robert Kenneth Jones

Robert “Bob” Kenneth Jones, 89, went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Bob was born on November 3, 1923 in St. Petersburg, FL to Oscar Steven and Katherine Edith Jones. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. Bob married his wife, Eula “Mae” Spence, in November 1945. In June 1959, Bob and Eula moved from West Palm Beach, FL to Jacksonville Beach, FL, where they resided ever since. Bob worked a variety of jobs with Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach and retired from Mayport Naval Station. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and Beach United Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mae Jones; son Raymond Jones and daughter Sandra Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-3pm Thursday, October 17 at Beach United Methodist Church, 325 7th Ave N., Jacksonville Beach, FL. A celebration of life will be held immediately after the visitation at 3pm also at Beach United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hills Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.
