Robert Howard Maisch, 85, passed away January 14, 2011. Born in Cincinnati, OH he was a resident of Jacksonville for the past 26 years. He retired from UPS as VP of Operations after 35 years of service. Mr. Maisch served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he earned a purple heart. He was a member of Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, the Ponte Vedra Club, and San Jose Country Club. He was also a member of Tuxedo Park in New York.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley. Survivors include his daughter, Dianne Wilson (Bob); sons, Robert Maisch (Jan) and Joseph Maisch (Patti); six grandchildren, Nancy Thielen, Megan Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Brian Maisch, Greg Maisch, and Alexandra Maisch; five great-grandchildren, Bryn Thielen, Bergen Thielen, Sebastian Wilson, Brian Wilson, and Nev Wilson; and his partner, Doris.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2011, at Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
