Als ich die Nachricht bekam was passiert ist, war es wie ein Schock für mich das du nicht mehr da bist. Mein Kopf war und ist immer noch leer und ich kann es nicht begreifen dass es dich nicht mehr gibt. 
Leider kannte ich dich nur von Bildern, aber diese waren voller Leben. Es war immer toll mit dir zu schreiben, ich vermisse es sehr.    
Ich hätte dich gerne kennen gelernt. Ein Bekannter sagte zu mir, dass ich dich tief in meinem Herzen behalten soll. Du bist nur voraus gegangen.

Doreen and I knew Shelby for a few years and worked with her. We really thought alot of her. We took her and her Mom Sabine to a Titans and Jaguar's gamegame in Nashville and we all had such a good time. I think of her alot and just can't believe she is gone. When I see a horse or owl I always think of you. You wete so pretty and young and everything ahead of you. We will miss you so much. I remember the last time I talked to you it was during the bad storms in Florida and we wanted to make sure you all were safe. I remember ypu telling me things can be replaced but lives can't. We Love you Shelby. RIP Our Dear Sweet Friend.

Well baby girl, it's your one month ALREADY and I still can't believe you are gone!! Everyone said it is going to get easier but it only seems to get harder  

I can't stop thinking of the day that you left this ugly world. I always wake up every single morning between 3:40 and 4:20am and then fall back asleep knowing you are at peace . You are truly missed but you are still in everyone's heart and we know that you are flying around and happier than ever!

Shelby and I were very close over the years.  The time we spent together, there was never a dull moment.  No matter what Shelby did, she always managed to put her heart in it. The fact that she would go out of her way to save a puppy in the middle of the highway or that she always had a way of communicating through song lyrics, artists and singing that she loved to do.  Anyone who knew Shelby, knew she loved FB. I remember countless times laughing hysterically at all of the links she would share  with me. Shelby was such an animated  person . Anything she touched came alive .  She was the glue that held everything together. I and my family adored her. Shelby touched so many lives without even knowing it. I'm so thankful to have known such an amazing and beautiful girl.  She has impacted my life In More ways Than one . She will always have a lasting place in my heart . I love you Shelby, you are in God's hands now. May you always watch over us all and give us a piece of your heart that will live infinitely forever in all of us. Rest in piece Shelby. I will never forget you.

Even though I didn't know you very long I feel so blessed to have the 5 years of wonderful memories with you. Every time I spent time with you, you were always happy and smiling and I know you want everyone to remember you that way and not to be sad, however that is easier said than done. I was in your Facebook page the other day and I found a quote you posted that helped me and I hope that it helps the family as well. "Faith is having the ability to smile when everything looks hopeless, because deep down you know it's not." I will remember those words and have faith and I known that we will see you again. I have so many wonderful memories of Shelby from the Rivermont Farm horse shows.  I hope the horse shows were somehow a blessing to her and memories for you Sabine to hold onto forever.  She was a great rider and without a doubt loved her horses!  Sabine, I am so heartbroken for you.  I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through.  Thank you for coming to my horse shows and allowing me the privilege to get to know you and Shelby.  Please know you and your family are in my prayers.  I know she is in heaven with my dad and helping him care for my horses that have gone on to heaven and we will see them all again one day.  Lots of love, hugs and prayers from Gracie and I.

Shelby was always so kind to me and kind to others . I remember when I was looking to change jobs every where she worked that year she would try and get me a job with her... Dear sweet Dennis and Sabine. My heart feels your loss of your beautiful sister and daughter. A sister is one of the best gift a parent can give a brother. To love, to treasure and to share our first years with. Sisters  and daughters are Angels who help lift us up when our own wings are to tired to fly. She is a gift of the heart. We were inseparable. I remember when we dyed the bottom of my hair black! I thought my grandma was going to kill me. Every Friday we spent our weekends at the skate station. Never missed a Friday. As time went on we went our separate ways. I moved to a different school and you moved to Georgia. But even when you came back to Jacksonville you reached out to me and we hung out like we were never separated. I remember when we went out on the 4th of July. We had so much catching up to do the guys just let us talk the whole night. Anyways, I just want to say you are an awesome human being and I'm blessed I had you as a friend. I regret not reaching out to you in these past few months. But I know you're in a better place and watching over us all. Love you Shelbs ❤

Wat had jij ons afgelopen dinsdag verschrikkelijk nieuws te vertellen. In tranen deelde je ons mede dat je dochter Shelby in Amerika geheel onverwachts was overleden. Je had Sabine gesproken, zij had haar gevonden. De oorzaak was en is nu nog niet bekend.
Ook voor jou als haar vader zijn dit zeer moeilijke dagen. Je hebt zoveel van haar moeten missen, haar geboorte, haar jeugd, het opgroeien tot een lieve, fijne jonge vrouw, zoals we in zoveel berichten hier kunnen lezen.
Gelukkig heb je haar in 2011 voor 3 weken in je gezin mogen verwelkomen. Jij, je vrouw Marleen, je zoon Max en dochter Joy, de halfbroer en zus van Shelby, hebben genoten van deze periode en haar leren kennen als een lieve, spontane tiener.
Ook Oma Broersen en wij zelf hebben meerdere keren met haar gepraat, gelachen en gefeest.
Wat had ze het naar haar zin op het verrassingsfeestje wat je voor haar had georganiseerd. 
Dat zijn herinneringen die ons en jou voor altijd zullen bijblijven.
Helaas is het voor jou niet mogelijk om haar begrafenis bij te wonen maar ik weet dat jij, je gezin en ook wij als familie a.s. zondag in gedachten in Amerika zijn.
We wensen ook jou voor de komende tijd heel veel sterkte toe.

What a terrible news we received here in Holland from Hans. How is it possible that such a nice young girl so suddenly passed away? Why, oh why?
In the period of 3 weeks here in Holland we have come te know Shelby as a sweet girl who had so many plans for the future.
Our thoughts are with you and the family in America, we wish you all the strength for these heavy days and the future.

Shelby i now have a void that can never be filled I've been crying so much over the thought of you not being here anymore I keep asking myself and god why did you take our best friend, sister,cousin so soon. He only chooses the best to sit next to him in heaven and this was his best choice he will ever make. It would be selfish of me to keep asking him why he made you an angeI, I already know the answer ,he needed your kind and loving heart to fill the heavens with laughter and love. Are family will mend and heal Sunday as we stare up to the heavens,you just keep flying high with god and be the angel he needs you to be. You are the most amazing little girl that I know and you have and always will be my little baby sis!! I watched you grow into a beautiful women and I am so proud of who you are. You are the brightest soul that I know. The days we spent together seem so short but the memories that we have will last an eternity. We will be together again as we sore and have a blast together as angels.

Shelby, I just don't know what to say  little angel. Truly if there angels on this earth you were one.  I did not know you long but it did not take long to know you well. You were a person that people immediately liked. You were intelligent, talented, funny and kind. Of all those, it is not easy being kind in this world. We have no answers for why you were taken now but someday we will all be with you. My sweet friend, take your wings and soar really, really high but don't forget to look after those of us down here. I will see you again on the other side.
