Miss you brother. You were a great friend and neighbor. You helped me with my elderly mother and senior dog Rocky, for years, both loved you dearly. Fly high and soar with the angels big Steve.

Man, Friday was a ROUGH day!  It was one year ago that we lost you.  You are missed so much!  I came over and spent the day with your "Gorgeous".  She misses you terribly!  The family is looking after her for you.  I know you are watching over her from heaven too.  I know one day we will all be together again.   I'm looking forward to that day.

Steven and I were classmates at Lake Forest elementary school,he was just the nicest kid there,always smiling and nice to everybody.That's how I remember him.

The world lost a good soul while heaven gained an angel.  Those of us left behind will miss you terribly, Steve.  Everyone who came to know you had their lives enriched by your vibrant personality.  Your willingness to step up to help, your smile or words of encouragement shows how much you loved your family, friends and even those you might not have known so well.  At your celebration of life everyone tried to describe you and what you meant to them.  They could not.  You are indescribable.  Mary, I know things are going to be very, VERY hard at times.  When you are at your lowest I want you to "channel" your inner Steve.  Stop and listen.  You will hear his voice saying to you, "You got this, ML.  Everything will be okay."  Keep talking to him........he is always with you in your heart.

Steve, you were a sigh of relief the 1st time I met you because I knew Mary had found her soulmate. You immediately became part of my family fitting in so good. My heart is broken and I will miss you greatly, sonny boy, no one can take your place

Uncle Steve was genuinely one of the most loving and welcoming people we’ve ever known. From the initial awkward hellos at first meeting to the warm hugs exchanged every time after, getting to see him and Aunt Mary whenever possible was always a fun moment. One of mine (hi it’s me Jay) and Carllee’s fondest memories was helping get Aunt Mary ready for their wedding; the excitement and love exuding from them both was enough to make anyone feel fond and getting to make Uncle Steve an official member of the family was a joyous occasion. We’re miserable to have lost him, but to have known him at all, to have had his warm demeanor directed towards us, to get to call him family, has been a wonderful gift that we will continue to cherish.

The first walk to the beach after Steve passed, Mary finds a small precious rose gold Pearl ring. This wasn't luck. All that sand and only a small part was showing? No, this was Mary's handsome, Steve, giving her one last gift to which she can carry with her everyday no matter where life leads next. So why pearl? Perhaps a reminder that good can come from tribulation. A pearl is created when a piece of debris gets into the oyster and the mollusk cannot flush it out. Instead it coats the debris over and over again with a shell material known as mother of pearl. I think Steve is telling Mary that when enough time has passed, he doesn't want you to just get by. Steve wants you to shine, radiate, gleam and dazzle just like you did when he was alive. 

Romans 8:28 says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose. "

Uncle Steve was truly a light in this world. He always wore a smile and never met someone who wasn't a friend. He remembered even the smallest details of past conversations, which is proof he really cared about you. We will miss his laugh (which he did often). We will miss his humor. We will miss his smile. We will miss his laid-back, easy going way. We will miss him. We will try to embody his memory by creating the same feeling he gave us and give it to others.

I still dont have to words to describe the immense loss we are all feeling and its taken me a couple days to even process what has happened..

Steve was such a kind hearted giving man, somebody who touched hearts everywhere he went, a man who truly would stop everything to help his friends and family, and most importantly he was our family. 

Steve we are all going to miss you so much, I'm going to miss the brunch haus trips, the front porch laughs, the beach days and of course our grill sessions. 

I feel so blessed to have known such a special and one of a kind person, until we meet again brother. 


There are no words that express the immense feeling of loss and sorrow we are feeling now that you’re gone. It was way too soon. You and Mama were supposed to have a lot more time together for more happy memories. You were so good together and we’re able to make each other SO happy. Thank you for always being so kind and patient. Truly one of the most genuinely helpful and accepting people I’ve ever met. I’ll definitely regret not being ready to meet you sooner, but I could tell right away I could trust you with someone as precious as Mama. Thank you for everything. I’ll always remember the good times on the front porch, in the back yard and at the beach. We’re still gonna take Mama to Brunch Haus on Sundays and will make sure to help out with the pirate ship for Halloween and of course st paddies, springing the blues and 4th of July… Your presence will be missed and your memory cherished forever. Rest easy in the great blue beyond Steve. 

Steve was one of the most genuine, kind, and upbeat people I've ever known. Everytime you'd talk to him he'd be smiling or laughing no matter the circumstances. He and Marylin accepted me as a part of the family and there was nothing that I enjoyed more than getting to spend time with them during every trip over to Jacksonville. He truly was a special person that left a positive mark on everyone around him. My heart goes out to Marylin+ everyone else that was close to him during this difficult time. I'm happy to have known Steve for all of these years and will always love and miss him

Steve, my brother.  I am going to miss your smile and infectious laugh.  We had so many great adventures together. You were my best man.  You will always be remembered and always in our hearts.

This picture was taken a few  minutes before Steve married his Love. I had asked him how he was doing, and his smile got Huge.  He said "I am about to marry the Prettiest Girl in the World, it doesn't get any better" and he danced. That is the Steve that I will remember.  A smile on his face and Love in his heart. We had many conversations over the years, and we talked about lots of things.  Football: We agreed on the Pro team, but not College. Go Jags! Getting Older: He always appreciated the moments. Parenthood: Loving our Children and how they helped shape us in who we became.  Being a Grandparent: The REWARD for everything in Life!!! 
Steve you will be missed by All, most especially by the Love of your Life.

My condolences to Stephen, Lisa, Stevie, Kylie, Jade, and the rest of Stephen’s family and friends. I only met Stephen a few times but he was always so happy and positive. He had so much love for his family. I wish that we could be there in person to offer our support, but just know that we love you all and hope that family, friends, and all the wonderful memories of Stephen will get you through this difficult time. 



Steve was so so loved. His contagious smile and positive personality would make anytime around steve a really good time. He always made the most of life. He always put family and friends first.  I never felt anything but love, acceptance, patience, and honesty from steve.  He will always be loved and dearly missed already. We love you steve. Your boyo.

Steve is my cousin. I am 17 years older than him so we didn’t hang out as kids. When husband Bill and I retired and moved to beach we would meet Steve, MaryLin and family for fun events. Thursday night at Milano’s for special on pizza, music festivals, Dancing In the Streets, Thanksgiving Day at Pete’s and when nephew Travis was in town. Bill and I both loved Steve and will miss him forever. He was a light in this world. 

Miss you already, you were an amazing person, brother, father, husband and Grandfather.  My heart is broken, love you so much♥️

Gods speed brother. You earned you're wings. You were always happy, smiling and giving. Thank you for helping me with my "Rocky" and Dixie, most of all, helping my elderly mother unload car of groceries back in her "driving days" and making my handicap brother smile. You  were such a great neighbor and put a smile on everyone's face that stepped in your path. Fly high brother....

I cherished all the time I got to spend with my cousin Steve whenever visiting Jacksonville. He always showed everyone a great time, knew how to make you laugh and genuinely cared for anybody he met. Always enjoyed getting together with him, especially over a few pineapple monkeys. He was truly a one of a kind person that I’m grateful I had the privilege to know and call my cousin. Love you Steve.

Steve and Mary Lin are the best neighbors and friends one could ever hope for.  I will miss Steve immensely.

Just wanted to post this for Mike McNeely. Since we will not be able to attend. He had his knee replacement. Has to go to Eye Surgeon on Stevie's service date. Love, Kathy McNeely

Mary Lin, Prissy, Stan, and family, Cindy and I are so saddened by the loss of Stevie and  saddened to see you all so hurt by his sudden passing. We only pray that this hurt, with God's help will turn to sweet memories of Stevie. Stevie was such an upbeat person, always smiling and happy and nothing but good things to say, and he never met a stranger. I am sure you all will have many precious memories to recall and share, especially with his grandkids that might not remember what a special person he was. We pray God will guide you through these difficult times and bring you peace and comfort.
