
She is predeceased by her husband, Chris Schlobohm, of 36 years who served in the United States Air Force. She cherished many camping trips and visiting various historical sites with her husband and family.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who committed her time to her family, but was also known as “everybody’s mother.” She enjoyed International travel and was an avid supporter of the Special Olympics in both Virginia and Florida. Carol was a huge animal lover who always had pets around. She maintained a guided membership and spiritual path in the rooms and literature of Al-anon.
She is survived by her two sons John and Chris, as well as five siblings to include; Jim Joyner (Suzanne), Mary Griner (Don), Gordon Joyner(Sylvia), Ernie Joyner (Nancy), Wayne Joyner (Valerie). She leaves behind a beloved grandchild Christian who referred to her as “Nana,” as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel (904) 249-2374. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00am at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Interment will follow immediately after at H. Warren Smith Cemetery also in Jacksonville Beach. Memorial Contributions are preferred in Carol’s name to the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics or Humane Society
