Thomas Madison Medlock

It is with great sadness that the Medlock family announces the passing of Thomas Madison Medlock, a resident of Jacksonville Beach FL. He was born September 29, 1966 in Putnam County, FL and passed away on August 17, 2021.

Tom grew up in Waycross, GA, but moved to Fernandina Beach during high school where he was on the Football and Weightlifting team. His senior superlative was “Class Flirt”. He graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1984. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1985, but was only able to serve for a short period. He was medically discharged due to an injury.

Tom pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing from Valdosta State College (now University) in 1991. Tom began a career in medical device sales. His current employer was Medtronic. In 2006 Tom married Gina and he was the stepfather to her two children and then they had two children of their own. Tom and Gina also cared for two more children and adopted their granddaughter.

Tom was a Christian and loved the Lord. The family’s place of worship is The Church of Eleven22. Tom was known to be smart, funny, caring, family oriented, an overachiever, and never met a stranger. He was a hard worker and always made sure he provided for his family. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, geocaching, and riding his Harley Motorcycle. Tom participated in Boy Scouts as a young man. In 2006, he had a passion to instill the ideals of scouting in young men, so he became a Scoutmaster and began Troop 929. He guided many Boy Scouts to the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout. After relocating, Tom joined Troop 276 as Scoutmaster. Tom lived a happy and fulfilling life and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Georgina Marie Medlock and children, Amber Jeanette Davies, Seth Peyton Davies, Thomas Mason Medlock, Tynlee Madison Medlock, Ashley Marie Smith, Devin Coy Smith, and Aubrey Bela Medlock.

The family requests donations for the children’s college fund in lieu of flowers. Checks can be made payable to Georgina Medlock or transfers can made to Vystar Credit Union
