Amado was a retired US Navy Veteran. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 3 Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Two Navy Commendation Medals and Navy Expedtionary Medal.
In his retirement, Amado enjoyed socializing with his friends at the dog track.
He was also a wonderful Father figure to his granddaughter Jade.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pacita Pecson Santos; daughter Imelda Grieser (John); son, Renato Santos (Priscilla); granddaughters, Tshilaba Verite [neé Jade Isom] (Artus Nemati), Jenna Goudreau (Andrew Leigh); great granddaughter, Emelia Leigh.
He is preceded by his parents; brothers, Virgilio, Oscar(twin brother), Eduardo, Oscar, Eugenio; sister Victoria.
A mass of christian burial for Amado will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
