Anne Allen was born on February 25, 1926 in Jackson, Mississippi and died on March 4, 2026 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 100. She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Collier Allen, Jr. She is survived by her son, James Allen, and his wife, Angela Allen, of Jacksonville, Florida and her nephew Daniel Terry of Atlanta, Georgia.
Anne graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1942. She also attended the Shuster-Martin School of Drama in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating in 1944.
She worked as an accounting clerk and secretary for several companies, most recently for Winn-Dixie Stores. After her retirement she did volunteer work at St. Vincent’s hospital, the local Alzheimer’s organization and Meals on Wheels. She was also active in her church and was deeply committed to God and to helping others.
Everyone who met her loved her and she was an inspiration to others in many ways. She will be remembered and missed by many.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 at Murray Hill Baptist Church, 4300 Post St., Jacksonville, FL
