Born December 22, 1990, in Gretna, Louisiana, to Steve and Jane Shannon, Anthony spent most of his childhood and formative years in the suburbs of Chicago, LaGrange Park, IL, before relocating to Florida in 2017. From a young age, he demonstrated a rare blend of creativity, discipline, and passion—qualities that would define his life and every endeavor he pursued with steadfast determination.
Anthony was a man of many talents and endless curiosity. His many interests included skateboarding, martial arts, aviation, and was always looking for his next adventure. By the age of nine, he had already earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. In high school, he thrived as a gymnast and discovered a lifelong love of running, completing his first marathon as a senior. At just 20 years old, he pushed his limits even further by completing an Ironman triathlon—an achievement that reflected his perseverance and drive.
Music was also a deep part of Anthony’s life. Naturally gifted, he began with the oboe before exploring guitar, percussion and keyboard. Whether performing on his church’s worship team or simply listening, music was a sacred space for him—a way to connect with others and with God.
Above all, Anthony’s life was rooted in his unwavering faith. His love for God was not just a belief—it was a lived reality that shaped his relationships, fueled his passions, and gave purpose to everything he did. He was a devoted member of Christ Church East in Jacksonville, Florida, where his church family was a constant source of community, encouragement, and joy.
Anthony graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange IL. He attended Indiana State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Theta Omicron Chapter. Anthony later completed a certificate in web development from the University of Central Florida. He excelled in his role as a software engineer at Availity, where he brought intelligence, integrity, and heart to his work. He was also an enthusiastic member of the PRS Running Club in Jacksonville, always striving to improve while encouraging those around him.
